The Culprit Dropshot Worm The Culprit Dropshot Worm works exceptionally well with the drop shot rig. The "Dropshot" is a popular rig with both the professional tournament fisherman and the weekend angler. The “do nothing” body design and unique color selections provide versatility when trying to "match the hatch."

Drop-shot Rig How-to . . .
PALOMAR Dropshot Knot
(Step #1) Double your line and pass the loop through the hook’s eye. (Step #2) Let the hook hang freely and loosely tie a simple overhand knot with the doubled line. (Step #3) Take the looped end and pass over the hook. (Step #4) Slowly and carefully tighten by pulling on both the tag end and the main line. The key is to get the hook to extend 90 degrees out from the line, hook point up, and allow adequate line beyond the knot to attach the weight.
Dropshot Rig The near-vertical Dropshot presentation allows the lure to suspend in fish habitat for an extended amount of time.
“The Dropshot Rig generally incorporates a medium action spinning outfit, light line (4-8 lb. test), a 2/0 or smaller straight hook tied with a Palomar Knot, and a bell-style weight or a special dropshot weight at the end. This technique is meant to be a stationary or very slow finesse presentation. The hook point is exposed and when a fish strikes it’s typically a soft bite. You may feel slight pressure on the line or the line may move in one direction unexpectedly. When this happens set the hook with an even sweeping motion versus the ‘cross-their-eyes’ snap of a hook set.”
